Overcoming difficulties (LOST MY ENTIRE PROJECT 2 DAYS BEFORE DUE)

Monday morning, my phone was stolen- which had all the film and clips edited together and ready for today's publish. I had bet my life that the 2 minute film would of saved to the cloud and waited till i got my new phone yesterday. for whatever reason, unknown to me- god or whatever deity that rules my life decided that no. The 2 minute short film... and weeks of filming and editing... were completely gone.  Instead of freaking out and honestly- crying i decided to get my act together. If I were to become a filmmaker- stuff like this happens. That night i jumped into action. I was able to retrieve some of the few clips, mainly the ones with my friend Daniela from the cloud. However the short film is completely lost and gone. So, I got to work. ~ 1. I first re-filmed all what was lost in one night. I got my makeup on, redid my hair, and ran around my house and outside at night while my parents were NOT home. If I were being honest, I  could of sworn I saw the real hat man...

The HatMan 3D modeling

Image
Here is the process of 3D modeling The Hatman, for a CGI shot in my movie ! (my reference) 1.  First I start with 3D modeling the face, using the method of "polygonal modeling." This method is ideal when it comes to sculpting humans and animals, and is great for maintaining a low poly count and later animation and rigging.   2 After a couple nights of hard work, I finish the hat mans face. There are some flaws, but they will become unnoticeable later. I purposely tried to give him some noticeable wrinkles, and creepy eyes,  3 I then went ahead and quickly modeled the hat, this only took a couple minutes since the hat is  a pretty simple design,  4 then I 3D modeled the body, this took longer then the hat, but shorter amount of time then the face.  5 So after about 4-5 hours of 3D modeling, the Hat man is done! He will appear in one of my shots as a short jump scare. I will have him edited in seamlessly using some you tube tutorials.

Filming,

Held a get-together where I had made some video clips for the film with my friend Daniela!  Here are a few of the clips (that blogger would allow me to export here.)  I need to do one more get-together with my friends to film the final parts of the film needed. I also must redo a couple shots that turned out poorly. Then I can begin with editing, which includes adding in sound, editing colors, cuts and transitions.

However we ha...

Storyboard Post

Image
I created this storyboard by writing out a bit of the script and then translating it to a storyboard. I then also used procreate to draw a bit of my story to also be more visible. This story board is able to flow since I simply list in order the events that will take place in the short film and how/why they happen. (along with camera angles, sound, etc.)
